Project description<\/h3>\n

In 2018, Fridolin Walcher was part of a Swiss Greenland expedition. Together with ice and climate researchers, he traveled via research stations on the inland ice up to the Humboldt – and the Petermann Glacier at over 81 degrees north. After the expedition he stayed back in one of the northernmost villages of Greenland. Fridolin Walcher shared the life of hunting and fishing with the people of Kullorsuaq for a month. This work resulted in his last book: “The Glacier’s Essence”, Scheidegger&Spiess 2020.<\/p>\n

Author Biography<\/h3>\n

“We change our landscape and with it we change ourselves.” This is the focus that runs as a thread through Walcher’s work as a photographer. In his exhibitions and publications on glacier melt in Greenland and Glarus, he shows that we are all in the same boat. His work is represented in collections in Switzerland and abroad.<\/p>\n
